4 out of my challenge of 10 layouts on my holidays accomplished! I am doing pretty well!!!

Not entirely thrilled with either of these two, they're ok... but not quite what i had in my head! Although the more i look at the Song and Dance one, i am feeling a little happier about it.. the other one is just a lost cause to me, but i cant work out how to fix it now, so will just be one of those in the album that i'm not too fussed on! Happens sometimes i guess!!! Some days you love what you create, some days, you just don't!!!!

Might have to have a little rest from scrapping for a day or two i think! Or maybe not... lol...I took some amazing pics of Olivia on the weekend, that should inspire me some!!! :)

A lovely quiet Saturday, in my happy, happy place... Scrapping!!! Yaayyy!!!

Well, its been a while, i really am hopeless when it comes to maintaining my blog!! lol...
Have been on a bit of a health kick/diet for the past month or so, and in the process, have managed to lose 10kg~!!!!!! A bit excited about that i can tell you, and feeling fantastic too! :) Pretty impressed with going down 2 sizes in a relatively short time!!!!!

I have a way to go to be where i want to be, and only 13 1/2 weeks to do it. Yes, in just 13 1/2 weeks, i'm off on my massive trip to the US of A! SOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!! New York, Las Vegas, San Francisco and LA, here we come... Travelling with one of my besties, the beautiful Holly girl.. We are going to have sooooo much fun, and probably a little mischief.. he he.....

Ok, onto scrappy things... Heres a couple of cards Phil and I made this evening... :) Just a little card for Fathers Day, isn't the tie such a cute idea for a masculine card???? The one on the right is mine, Phil made the one on the left, i think his looks a bit better than mine, and i must admit, he helped me a bit with mine, LOL... and I'M supposed to be the "Scrapper", lol... he he he.......

Another layout of my gorgeous little dancing queen, with her lifelong friend Mia at eisteddfod earlier this year.... Loved hand cutting paper again! It has been ages since i have found papers good to cut out :)

I haven't been creating much lately! But have been spring cleaning the scrap room and selling heaps and heaps of stuff on an awesome page on Facebook called Aussie Scrappers Garage Sale. It is so awesome, i have made nearly $450 in the last 3 weeks!!!! And have soooooo much more to clear out!!! Check it out!!!!! All more spending money for my big US Trip, in just 15 weeks!!!! Yiippeeee!!!!!! Hoping to sit down and create tomorrow on my one day off!! :)

OMG, i actually scrapped!!!!! This is about the first Non Magazine DT work that i have done in almost a year!!!!!! Even though i just got a new commission due in 2 weeks! LOL... I wanted to scrap just for ME today.. no limits and pressures!!!!!! Pretty happy with this one, although it is pretty simple.... :-) i've been busting to scrap a layout of this beautiful picture of Miss Liv with one of her besties, Mia. Aren't they just gorgeous??? Their first time in Tu-tu's at the Dancing Eisteddfod in June.... I used K & Co "Abrianna" papers, and lots and lots of Prima! :-)

See, the problem with designing for magazines, is that you are not allowed to publish any of your work! I have been scrapping in the last, wow, year since i have showed anything!!! I swear i have!!! LOL.... Just can't put anything up here!!!!! Which is kind of a shame.... So i make it my new mission, to create some things just for ME that i can share! :-)

I have recently purchased countless new ranges of goodies from the US, and i have also discovered a fabulous!!!! Aussie product, called Dusty Attic, producing the most intricate, amazing and deliciously yummy chipboard!!!!! I only received them in the mail in the last 2 weeks, so WATCH THIS SPACE!! I will be scrapping up a storm in no time!!!! :-)

Wow, time really flies... almost December already, and i haven't blogged since August!!!
Have been absolutely flat out this year, it has been never ending!
Exciting news first, i was asked to be on the Design Team for a new magazine, Australian Scrapbook Ideas a few months ago! I was absolutely thrilled, to say the least!!!!!

Needless to say, this has kept me quite busy, hence no blogging, and definately no new projects to share, as all i have done is scrap for both the magazines i am designing for! I haven't had time to do any "me" scrapping in ages!!! My very first article was published in Scrapbook Ideas last month! I have 2 more articles coming up in the mag in issues 4 and 6, and two articles i have also done for UK Scrapbook Mag coming up in the next few months! Very exciting!

On other news, I had my 6th overseas trip in October, 12 nights cruising the South Pacific which was rather lovely!!!
Otherwise, nothing too exciting, just busy with life, work and Olivia and her dancing commitments!!!! She is also doing acrobatics classes now and starting Speech and Drama in the new year. Needless to say, this does not leave much time for Mummy to do anything!!! Lol.... Such is the life of a Mummy! :-)
Ok, thats about it for now.... keep your eyes out for Australian Scrapbook Ideas and you might get to see some of my recent work!! lol... My contract states i can't display any of the work anywhere until 6 months after it's published so it will be a while until i can put them on here!

This one is my girlfriend Tara's gorgeous little girl Charlotte... had a bit of fun making the banner out of fabric, there was a few disasters involved trying to machine sew the fabric onto the string, LOL.. But i was pretty happy with how it turned out....... Thats it for today... Back to the scrap table for me! :-)

This layout was for cybercrop the other week at Scrap of Difference, a Vintage/Shabby chic style layout in the theme of "Blast from the Past"... me as a freshie!

It's been a huge month here!!! I have had so much exciting news and have been very busy creating!

First of all i got asked to design for UK Scrapbook magazine! How exciting is that??
Then, i got a random email from the lovely editor of a great new scrapbooking mag here in Australia, "Australian Scrapbook Ideas", and was asked to write an article including 3 layouts for their upcoming Issue 3! Obviously, i can't share these layouts, but this has kept me out of trouble for the past few weeks! What an honour!!! I also have an "Introducing" article coming up in the next issue of Australian Scrapbook Ideas (Issue 2, which comes out in September!) Very exciting indeed!! I have also put in an application for their Design Team, so will wait and see how i go!

The current issue out now, Issue 1, also features one of my layouts in the Members Gallery, which was also mega exciting for me, because it is my first time to be published in Australia! Yaayy!!! It's a great new mag, if you haven't seen it yet, go and grab one! Especially the next 2 issues, ha ha ;-P

Aside from all the scrapping excitement, life is just generally busy! My darling sweet baby girl turns 7 tomorrow, would you believe? So we have been busy organising her party for next weekend, which, at her request, is a "Masterchef" party, where all the kiddies are going to cook the food and be judged by us! LOL.. It should be so much fun!

My next overseas trip is now just 10 weeks away, and i started a serious diet/exercise plan, my 13 week challenge, 3 weeks ago. I have been doing pretty well, walked about 20 km last week in total, which is a small miracle for me, who never does any exercise! I have lost 2.7 kg in 3 weeks, which is pretty good i guess, although i thought with the massive diet changes i have made and the serious exercise, that i would have lost a bit more, but every little bit is good!!!

Right, now its time to clean up this disaster zone of a Scrap Room! It is in such a mess at the moment!!!! LOL ;-)

A few new layouts

I've been pretty slack, and haven't managed to achieve my holiday wishlist, of getting at least 5 layouts done.. Oh well! I still have a few more days before i go back to work, anything can happen! Lol... Here is 2 i have manged to complete anyway, from Liv's dancing this year! The Superstar one was a real bitch! I covered all that chipboard with foil paper, omg.. what a nightmare!! The Little Fishies layout, i have used fabric (the red and white spot) for something different! I',m also impressed that i managed to complete two whole layouts and not used a single flower! This is an absolute miracle for me!! lol....

Well... it has not been the best month of my life! Spent late May and the better part of this month sick as a dog, but after 2 courses of antibiotics i am starting to come good!

Haven't done much scrapping at all! But i am hoping to get into the second Stuck?! Sketch for June tonight! And may have a browse around at some other site challenges see if anything inspires me!

Above is a card i whipped up today for miss Olivia's dance teacher Mandy. Just a simple one, but i certainly don't profess to be an awesome card maker! LOL...

I'm on holidays from work now for 2 weeks, so amongst the mile long list of things i am hoping to achieve (ie some gardening, selling stuff on ebay, general decluttering... lol) i have set myself a goal of scrapping at least 5 layouts and 2 cards, so i might make a start on that tonight after dinner

Miss Olivia had her second eistedfodd the other week, she danced with the 6 and unders and the 8 and unders, and all up out of the 6 group dances, got a 2nd, two 3rds, a Very highly commended, and a highly commended, so they did really really well! Tomorrow is her very first eistedfodd Solo at the Ipswich Junior Eistedfodd, so that is really exciting!

Not a lot else has been happening, we had the annual day at the races on Saturday, my 14th in a row, can you believe it? I am sad to say, i think i am gettinga bit too old for it these days... rapidly approaching 40, I just can't walk around in high heels all day drinking anymore.... Not that i didn't manage it, but omg, my feet are still killing me, and lets face it the older you get, the harder the hangovers are to get over... LOl... I hardly ever drink, so it's my one big outing of the year... Having said that, i will have another crack at it next year, I just might get myself a nice spot in a tent so i can sit down and enjoy the day! LOL.. how sad this getting old is....

It's been a pretty sad couple of months, but today, i found some mojo and scrapped! I have been blog hopping and checking out new forums and sites looking for inspiration, and amongst other places i have been checking out, i found Stuck?! which is a really cool challenge blog! Once again, the year hasn't got off to the best start, scrapping wise! I haven't got around to doing very much at all!! I was very excited to have my 3 page article published in Scrapbook Magazine in the UK IN march, pics to follow! It's on sale here in Aus now :-)

Some very exciting news.... Olivia has been extremely fortunate to have scored herself her very first job!!! Well... she has been signed with a Modelling Agency!!!!! One of the largest and most reputable Children's Modelling Agencies in the country, i submitted an application, after her asking me for years if she could have a go.... I couldnt believe it when they called me literally TWO minutes after i pressed "Send", called us in for an interview the very next day, and phoned us the day after to let us know that they absolutely loved her, and think they will be able to get her plenty of work! We have our first photo shoot next week!!! She is beside herself with excitement!!!!!! If it all goes well, she will be earning more money than her mother!!! LOL...

Miss Olivia has also been keeping her mum and Nanny extremely busy with all her dancing. On a very proud note, she danced her very first ever "Solo" dance at the Show a few weeks ago, and scored 3rd place! Which i thought was fantastic for a very first effort! She was extremely proud of herself and her trophy and ribbon!!
The first eistedfodd was a week later, and we won two 2nd places in her group dances, which was also fantastic, great work to all the Dancetime Studio Girls!! Not much rest for the wicked, the next eistedfodd is 2 weeks away, Liv is in 6 group dances again, over two days, and then a week after that performing her Solo in the eistedfodd also! At least we get a little break after that, the next eistedfodds are in September, and we found out the other week her dance teacher Mandy is teaching her TWO more solo's to perform! One ballet and one Song and Dance Tap.. So Nanny could be very busy making more costumes!!!

Apart from all the busyness surrounding my child, which is really all i ever seem to have time for these days... i have been flat on my back for over a week with a back injury, and a mild cold, then came down with a really nasty flu and chest infection this week! Have been off work for nearly 18 days, and i am soooooo over it! Fortunately, i am blessed with the best mum in the whole world, she has been here with us for 9 days, looking after both of us, despite being sick as a dog herself, i couldn't have lived without her, and i am getting quite used to having her around, doing the washing, ironing,e tc... LOL.... I dont want her to go home today :-( lol
I haven't even been able to scrap on my time off, coz i couldn't even sit!!! How much does that suck????? It is sad to say, i am really looking forward to going back to work next week, i have been so bored i've been going out of my mind!!!!!! But anyway.... all will be good!!! Will post some pics shortly of a layout i started before i got sick, it's almost finished!!!!!!! TTFN xxxxxx

March Madness.....

Colour challenge last week at SOD - Black, white , pink and green.. This one was a bit of a challenge for me! Challenge for CC at SOD last week, use a handmade flower and an altered flower - i handmade the denim "lollipop" style flowers.

An "All white" challenge i had between a friend and I. This was also a tricky one! My layout is a bit simple.. but it is all white, so there you go.. Lol..

Wow, i have had such a busy month!! This week was my birthday, the big 3-8! (As i say, i'm not 38, i'm 18 with 20 years experience! LOL) I still can't believe i am really that old.. LOL... My gorgeous girlfriend Holly took me to "High Tea" at a lovely little Brissy restaurant "Joseph Alexander's" on the river on Tuesday, and i spent my birthday lunch at Platform 9 Restaurant with my darling Mum and my very beautiful, and very pregnant, best friend in the whole world Sandie, so all in all , it has been a lovely week!

In amongst all the socialising, i have still managed to scrap 3 layouts this month, taking my yearly total to 5, which is not too bad, considering the serious slump i have had the last 6+ months!! I am slowly getting my groove back i think. Have done some serious damage to the bank account with some rather extravagant spending on supplies though!!

On an exciting scrapbooking note, i have a 3 page "Introducing....." article coming out in UK Scrapbook Magazine apparently this week, I can't wait to see it in print! I have also had a few other layouts accepted

Yahoo... i actually did it!! Mum and i decided to have a scrap session on Saturday, because she too has not scrapped in a very long time! I was rather impressed with myself getting 2 layouts done, and it has definately kick started my mojo i think.. i am constantly thinking of ideas the last few days, have dragged heaps of stuff out, and i'm having a lovely rainy day today pottering around in my scrap room....

Well, the 2 new layouts are nothing absolutely amazing, but i was pretty happy with what i came up with! :-)

Wow, has it been that long since i even looked at my blog??? I don't quite know what has happened to me.. i have done ONE lousy layout in the past.. ooohh... 7, 8 months... It is very sad.... I guess life just gets too crazy sometimes.. It seems to have all co-incided with starting my new job last July, although i quite enjoy it, and enjoy the challenges, it is full on and very stressful at times, so maybe that's one of the reasons i have lost my mojo!!

On a positive note... I got an email a few weeks ago from the lovely editor of UK Scrapbook Magazine.. and they are publishing a 3 page "Introducing...." article in their magazine of me next month, including 4 of my layouts! This has kind of kicked me up the butt to get my act together and get back into it.. I have spent the last few weeks looking around at everyone's work on blogs and online galleries, and all the goodies in the stores of course.. and i'm starting to feel a bit of a creative twinge coming back.. so this could be a good thing.. I even put the scrap table back up in my study, it's been folded up under the futon for over 4 months!! Today, I received a lovely box of goodies, that i ordered from the US last week, so many yummy things, (including 5 beautiful sets of nestabilities, so can't wait to use those babies!!!! ) My brain is starting to tick over now... and i think this week will be the week to get back into it! Lol... Stay tuned........ :-)

Well... i have not been a happy scrapper this year.. The mojo has been on an extended trip somewhere, i have had no inspiration, nor inclination to scrap whatsoever in months! Which is tragic considering the thousands and thousands of dollars worth of stuff i have accumulated, lol.. Until today.. I decided to tidy up the disaster area that is my scraproom and dragged out a few bits and pieces.. It's nothing too spectacular, but hopefully it might kick start a bit more mojo!!!!

My most recent layout, i completed today, using the gorgeous, funky Basic Grey "June Bug" pp and stickers., i mounted the stickers onto acetate first, and then foam tape to give dimension, not that you can see it so well in the photos.

Yes, i have been extremely bad lately.. The mojo this year has not been flowing like it should... Has anyone seen it?? Anyway., here's a few of my more recent layouts. Not much else to report, busy busy.. Olivia turned 6 a few weeks ago, it is so hard to believe that she's 6! She's keeping us very busy with her dancing, the last eistedfodd for the year is coming up next month and she's most excited that she is going to be the "Crocodile" in Crocodile Rock, lol. Nanny has been roped into making the costume. lol.

I have finished my 6 mth appointment on the DT at Scrap Pile, and the site has just been taken over by a new owner, Gill. It will be nice just to scrap for myself for awhile with no pressure, although i immensly enjoyed my time on the Design Team. I have the possibility of another appointment for DT coming up with a local store.. but nothing concrete just yet... Also this month, i have some layouts featured that i created as Guest Designer for Tanyah at Scrap n Craft with T. Thanks heaps Tanyah for the opportunity!! :-)

My DT layouts for May for Scrap Pile...

Well, its been the craziest couple of months ever for me.. Just so so busy, i haven't had a lot of time to scrap!! And that IS a tragedy!!! My mojo is still full blown missing in action, i am really hoping it finds it way back to me really soon.. Nevertheless, i did manage to get my DT layouts for Scrap Pile done for May, although i can honestly say, i'm not creating as good as i know i can.. Hopefully this will improve very very soon!! :-(

On a very happy note, i won Ceci's RAK from her blog! Which was very exciting, thanks Ceci!! Got an awesome pack of goodies which was very nice of her :-)

Olivia had her first Dancing Eistedfodd a few weeks ago, and i am pleased to report that she came 2nd in all three of her dances!!! She looked beautiful, i will pop some pics up of her. And its her second eisteddfodd this weekend, so once again, we are busy busy busy, with rehearsals at least twice this week. I tell you, im not sure im cut out to be a dancing mum!!! Its hard work for me, let alone her!! lol ;-)

Last weekend was my Step Dad, (also known as Poppy Michael ) 's 50th birthday, and we had a 70's themed party.. Everyone looked awesome, and it was a fun night!

The last of my major social events for the first half of the year is on in just under 2 weeks, the Ipswich Cup, we always go all out getting all dolled up and heading out to the races, so i am also madly trying to get organised for that.. One good thing, we always get hundreds of fabulous photos, so that should inspire my scrapping again for a while!! Ok, thats it for me... will upload a few photos later ;-)

Hey all!! Well i have had the busiest April you could even imagine, so i haven't even had time to scrap!! We had our 20 year school reunion on Easter weekend, i had 3 of my closest girlfriends from school staying with me from all over Oz, so needless to say, we ran amok and had an absolutely brilliant time! Other than that, between work, Olivia dancing 3 times a week and weddings, dinners and various other social engagements, i have not had time to scratch!!!! Hopefully things will settle down to a bit more normality now!!!

Check out this gorgeous RAK i got from the lovely Jewls from Scrap Pile last week! It was so lovely, i "won" it for being a random commenter on her blog. Thanks heaps Jewls!! And the card she made is just gorgeous!!! :-) Aren't i a lucky girl??!!!
Still trying to find my mojo, i cant drag myself away from the cuttlebug, i got some new embossing folders the other day, so im embossing every scrap of cardstock in sight and making flowers etc. Ah well, they will come in handy later for cards and stuff i guess!

Well i have been very quiet the past few weeks with the scrapping!! I packed up my scrap room so i could pull out the futon for a friend staying over, and i haven't had time to get everything out again! My mojo has been MIA, So i have started off simple, by finished a UFO (un finished object). I have struggled with this layout for ages, it was hard to match the colours, but i think its come out ok. My Nursing Graduation Ball, way back in 1993, with my darling mate Brad. Ok, off to see if i can get some more creative mojo going!!!

My little effort for today. Holly and I chilling out in the water at Maya Bay, on one of the Phi Phi Islands off the coast of Phuket. Not that you can see anything of the beach, lol.. It's where the movie "The Beach:" was filmed.. What an original name for a movie anyway?? lol.- i havent seen it.. ;-P
Just LOVE the Basic Grey Marrakesh range, although it's a lot brighter than i would usually scrap with.. I think it will work well with a lot of my Thailand pics. Trying to plough through the photos from Thailand in November. Don't even know where to start there's so many of them!! Very sad i have to go back to work tomorrow, its just fabulous weather to stay inside and scrap!!! lol...
I did my bit to help stimulate the economy today, when i received my surprise little bonus from K-Rudd.. i went scrap shopping LOL... like you do!!! :-)

Here's my little effort for today.. I had to make my gorgeous friend Tara a card to welcome her brand new baby girl Charlotte. The problem being that apart from a rather strong disliking of making cards, i also rather SUCK at it quite a lot. You talented card makers out there, i don't know how you do it. I have agonised for hours over a pretty simple little card, i swear i can do a layout much much quicker, even the ones that take me ages.. LOL.. A card maker i will probably never be, but i still like to make them for special occasions...

Here's my layout for the week, its been a very last minute rush job, so it's pretty simple - for Linda's Inspirational challenge for the week - the inspiration was the photo, i was inspired by the yellow spots and i created this Retro 70's looking LO, its a pic of me with my Mum and my darling late Dad, very clearly taken in the 70's! (Check out those clothes!! lol)

I got a double whammy of exciting news last night, first up, i got a pile of layouts accepted by a UK Scrapping magazine (Scrapbook Magazine) for publication! I haven't been published before, so i'm fairly excited about it!!! THEN i got a layout accepted by Basic Grey for their gallery too, only a few hours after i sent it in, which is impressive, they usually take about a month and often decline them!
Today i am home alone while the little Miss is at school, so i am planning a lovely scrapping day all to myself to tackle my first layouts for my new DT position at Scrap-pile.com.au :-)

I've been busting to tell everyone since i found out last night.. but i had to wait until it was announced on the site!! I've been appointed onto the Design Team at a great scrapping site, Scrap Pile!!! So thrilled and excited!!! My DT position at Scrap of Difference sadly ends at the end of this month, and i will be forever grateful to Jo for giving me the opportunity. I won't be abandoning SOD either, i have got to know everyone and they are a great bunch of girls, so i will still be lurking around there too, but I'm really looking forward to getting to know all the gang at Scrap pile and the challenges that lay ahead...

Hi all! I know, its been a while.. Life has just been completely crazy! As you know i had my big o/s trip in November. What an absolute hoot that was!! Holly and i had the time of our lives in Thailand! I love the crazy place! Unfortunately, or some may think fortunately! lol, we got mixed up in the whole airport closure thing that was going on in Bangkok, and ended up stranded over there for a week longer than expected! In hindsight, it was no big deal, but at the time, we were a little stressed and frustrated, with not knowing when we would be able to get out of there and back to our daughters, but we made the most of the extra week anyway, and managed to see just about everything there is to see in Bangkok!

We finally arrived home early December, straight back to work, and then Christmas was upon us in no time at all! Had a lovely Christmas at mums with the family, despite having to work night shift Christmas Eve, we had a lovely afternoon and evening drinking cocktails!
Now its almost the end of January!!! I've also been helping organise our 20 year High School Reunion, i know, i know, i dont seem old enough!! ha ha... Jokes... Its quite scary, and almost impossible to believe, that it has been 20 years since i finished school! Time just flies by too fast! Anyway, we have got the wheels turning on this now, its up and running and booked in for Easter Saturday, and i am really looking forward to it! I have so far 3 of my closest school friends coming from interstate or far away, to stay with me, and i am looking forward to spending some time with them and running amok for the night too, lol.

I have been ill all week, which does not make me all that happy, but i have just seen the doctor, and its nothing too serious, i'm a little run down and sporting a face and neck that makes me look like a chipmunk from swollen glands, and ulcers in my mouth and coldsore to boot! But after 3 days in bed, i'm up a little today and hoping to improve soon! My Graves is currently under control which is one good thing, but i think wearing myself out the last few months makes me a little more susceptible to bugs going around.. But i will surely survive lol ;-)

SCRAPPING WISE - I have been busy scrapping the past few weeks, and although my mojo seemed to have vanished, i feel like i'm getting back on track now. I have the pleasure of being asked to be Guest Design Team for the month of February for a great little online store, will let you know the details when it's all official. I can't wait to show off what i created with the absolutely divine Basic Grey Bittersweet papers!

I am also currently in the process of applying for another Design Team position, will see how i go ;-)

This weekend is Cybercrop over at Scrap of Difference, www.scrapofdifference.com.au check it out, theres some great challenges including my challenge which is a sketch! And also a layout challenge of "Firsts" by Nicole and Rochelle's Card challenge.

Speaking of which, i should get moving and clean up the god awful mess that is my scrap room so i can get into the tasks ahead!! Hope everyone is well and happy!! :-) and HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY! xxx

My beautiful daughter... She is growing up right before my eyes and WAY TOO FAST!!!! I think she looks so much older than her mere 5 in this pic!!!! But how beautiful is she?? Well.. i have been a busy girl and haven't had time to blog lately!!!
Not a whole lot to report really... Just cruising along, and counting down, now in DAYS until my next overseas adventure to Thailand next month!! (20 days to go!!!)
I had a great night at a crop at Jo's last night with the girls from Scrap of Difference. I did absolutely NO scrapping, but had a good laugh and it was nice to finally meet some of the ladies :-)
It was rather amusing too recounting the famous Tracy spew story.. i think the girls got a pretty good laugh out of that one...

I did however, manage to get a couple of layouts done the night before, so after a major mojo block the past few weeks, i feel like it may be returning LOL
Anyway, im off to get organised for some more scrapping this evening.. i have spent most of today outside cleaning the swings, trampoline and cubbyhouse.., sweeping pavers and (sssshhh) hosing just a little bit.. Hating how living on the road everything gets so revoltingly filthy.. so i have once again the thought that i will definately be selling up soon and buying something a lot more low maintenance!!! GGGGRRRR

Well i have had quite a lovely day today, pottering around in my scrap room.. and i have just created another LO using the new Basic Grey Eva patterned paper.. I had my first go at trying a bit of Digi too, and used a Rhonna Farrer frame around the photo.. Think im pretty happy with how it turned out too :-) Getting right in the mood to scrap now.. And the lovely Jo who owns Scrap of Difference, the site i design for, has just dropped over my goodies to play with for the month.. Wooo hooo... Such a pity i have to work tomorrow, i could totally sit here and scrap for the next few days!! :-) Absolutely loving my kit for the month, its the new Bella Damsel papers, yum yum.. and lots of other little goodies.... Its been a while....

HI all..... I have been very slack at this blogging thing.. will add that to my endless list of things to improve on.. lol.. Life's just been cruising along for me really... Olivia has just had a few days away with her father, she said she had a good time, but then said, "But mummy, i don't think i will go to see my dad again, because i just missed you too much" Bless her.. She's been a perfect angel child since she got home, and has just been such a delight to be around :-) Big girl next year - off to school.. What happened to my little baby???? :-(

Things are going well with my Design Team position, i am loving it and enjoying getting involved, and in a way FORCED to get off my lazy butt and scrap more often! Which is precisely the kick i needed!!! All the other girls are just lovely and i'm really enjoying it! :-)
On other "scrap" news, i was extremely thrilled to have one of my layouts accepted by the Basic Grey website for display in their gallery. For those non scrappers, its a pretty big thing, ihave submitted quite a few over the years, and never once got one accepted!! (Basic Grey is a HUGE scrapbooking brand i guess you could say, in the US) So pretty pleased with myself on that one :-)

Health wise, my Graves seems to be fairly under control, my last levels were within the normal limit, and although i still feel extremely tired some days, i am doing a whole lot better than a few months ago! Yay... I have also kick started my big weight loss journey.. having put on quite a few stray kg's with the thyroid thing.. All going really well so far, i hope to lose quite a few more before i head overseas in November with my gorgeous friend Holly.

Very exciting, we are off to Thailand for almost 2 weeks!!! Single yummy mummy's getaway!!! Sooo cant wait, oh the shopping, sight seeing, relaxing... aaaahhhhh.... Planning on spending at least a whole day at a Spa getting pampered, and who knows what else we might get up to! We are going to wing it and organise our days once we get there. But i'm hoping to once again go to the Tiger Temple, which was one of my highlights last trip, and also hoping to get in some diving off the coast of Phuket.. Can't wait, and i really need a holiday!!!!!!! Counting down 7 weeks from tomorrow, and it can't come soon enough!!!!

Hmmm not much else to report... i have been on a self imposed "Man ban" all year, which has been an extremely healing and healthy thing for me to do, i must say, its wearing a bit thin now.. Its been 9 months, which is a bit sad really... But i flatly refused to get screwed around again by another man, especially after that last horrendous experience i survived, (!!!!) so i am just happy being me, and spending time with my girl, my family and my friends and not bothering with getting out there dating again.. Besides, i just haven't met anyone "worthy" as yet..... LOL!

Anyway, thats enough rambling from me.... Hope everyone is happy and well :-)

Greetings all... Wow, its been ages since i updated my blog!! Sooooo slack... No, really, just sooooo busy... Life just seems to fly on by in the blink of an eye!!! First of all, i am very excited to announce that i have been selected as a Design Team member on a scrapbooking site, www.scrapofdifference.com.au... This is a very big achievement for me, as a very passionate scrapper, its something i have been hoping for , for a very long time, so i am just a little EXCITED!!! It is my first time on a DT, and i can't wait to get into it and inspire fellow scrappers!!! Trace, i will seriously need some advice for this one!! lol... Not a lot else to report of any great interest.. I have been plugging away at the house, the hallway has been repainted and looks great, and just last night i decided to lay lino in the laundry over the crappy concrete floor, and get myself a brand spanking shiny new laundry tub.. I have also undercoated the walls and just waiting for my dear friend Braddo to give me a hand to finish lining the walls , then i will paint it, and bang, laundry reno complete... It looks SOOOOO much better already!!! The rest of the house is pretty much finished, i know, its been going on for 8 years, but theres only so much a girl can do at a time on her own! I was getting it all ready to sell, but i have my doubts every other day, i just love the house so much, so i have put those plans on hold for a little longer.. besides, the market has dropped off a little, so best to sit tight and wait.. and contemplate a little longer....
Miss Olivia is turning FIVE tomorrow... Where has my beautiful little baby gone :-( She is very excited, and we are having a Fairy Picnic in the park tomorrow to celebrate, with about 20 other little 4 and 5 year olds, so it should be good fun.. Olivia has been accepted into St. Mary's, a private Catholic school, for prep next year, which she is very happy about. I think she bamboozled the Dep Principal in our interview though, when she was told what prep was all about, and what she would be learning, she proudly announced, "But i can already do that!" lol... so im kind of hoping they will put her up to Grade one earlier, which they said may be a possibility. (I tried for months to get her into prep early to no avail...) Shes a very intelligent little girl, and im not just saying that coz shes my child... lol...
Better go and get party things organised... i have so much to do, and so little time! Heading away next weekend up to the beautiful Maleny, for a scrapbooking retreat with mum and my good mate Tracy, we cant wait for a whole weekend of un interrupted scrapping and no children!!!! LOL.....

Hello..... and Happy April..

Wow, where has the year gone, April already??????
Just an update for everyone.... After all my cardiac tests came back negative, the doc decided to run some more blood tests and discovered i had hyperthyroidism.. which means basically that my thyroid levels were really high.. causing the tachycardia (fast heart rate), breathlessness, swelling and generally shitty way i have been feeling for MONTHS.. if not the last few years.. Saw an Endocrinologist urgently a day later, and it turns out i have Graves Disease.. Sounds pretty bad i know, but it seems to be relatively treatable.. I have started on a pile of medication, i feel like an old lady with the amt of drugs i have to take.. But amazingly, after just 2 weeks i am starting to feel better.. Well... i didnt initially, and the past week i have been laid up in bed AGAIN all week, with a nasty case of tonsillitis.. Turns out the medication to lower my thyroid levels, also lowers your white cell count, hence picking up any nasty bug which happens to be around... So back on another 10 day course of antibiotics!!! GGGrrrr.... I went back to work last Monday, just did an 8 hr shift and i swear it nearly killed me... But as it turns out , i was just starting to get sick with the tonsillitis.. Life has to get better doesnt it???? Anyway, i am definately feeling better today.. so will just take one day at a time.. Im totally over doctors and blood tests, i would gladly never have a test again, but unfortunately it is going to be a pretty regular part of my life from now on.. :-(
Olivia recently spent a week with her father, she says she had a good time, but was very happy to be home with Mummy :-). I missed her HEAPS but i was nice to have a week to just SLEEP and not have to take care of somebody else, and that is pretty much all i did..

Anyway... hope everyone else is well and happy.... And thanks to everyone for your kind emails, texts, facebook msgs etc.. lol ;-), i appreciate it very greatly... Kyls xxxxxxxxx

Hi all... well... i have had a pretty crappy week. I had been on antibiotics for my chest infection for 10 days and although a little better, remained really breathless and started getting really severe swelling in my legs... Thought i better go back to doc this morning and get it checked out.. What a day... Got sent for an urgent chest xray, which turned out to be ok... then the doc rang a cardiologist who was quite concerned and sent me for an urgent CTPA - which is a pulmonary angiogram, they put a drip in, injected dye into my bloodstream and did a ct scan of my lungs, they were suspecting pulmonary embolism (bloody clots inmy lungs). It was pretty harrowing.. anyway that turned up negative thank god, but my blood tests showed some thing elevated which indicated some inflammatory thing.. turns out they think i have a cardio myopathy.. or possibility peri carditis....Which is a bit scary... Probably a secondary thing to my recent illness, and my heart is a bit sick.. So i am currently on strict bed rest for at least a few days, with my legs up... and taking fluid tablets to try and get rid of the fluid, which has added a whole 5 kg to my weight in a week!!!!!!! Not very happy.......Side effect from that is that u lose potassium from your body, so i have to eat a minimum of three bananas a day, and i dont even love bananas.. lol........ oh well....... Soooo glad i bought this laptop and wireless internet a few weeks ago, i would be soooooooooooooo bored without it.. So im still laid up at my mums as i cant take good enough care of Olivia wheni am this sick... Feeling pretty crap too :-( Anyway, thats my latest news.. i am hoping very much that i get better quickly, believe it or not, i really am missing work... and not loving lying around... My feet and legs are so swollen, you cant even see my ankle bones... Not good...... Im a mess, i know, if i was a dog they would shoot me... lol... Hoping i am well enough to enjoy easter and my birthday next weekend....... I am also extremely missing human contact from people other than my immediate family, so feel free to come and visit.... lol ;-)

WOW its been ages!!!

Greetings all.. I have been extremely slack at this blogging thing... Life just passes me by really, busy busy busy.... So, whats been happening with me??? Starting back at xmas.. Had a relaxed and chilled out time, nothing too exciting but a lovely day with family and friends.. New Years i had a quiet one at my good mate Matts place, which was a Cocktail party, complete with a pina colada fountain.. lol... Good fun.... I had a bit of a judgment error in getting back with Marc just after New Years . . but i would say very fortunately for me, he got cold feet again 4 days later, and i called it off for good... Totally over that..... I am trying to remain friends, but it is quite hard after all the emotional trauma and hurt over the past few months... Enough of that...

Liv is good, i cant believe that she will be 5 this year!! Time just flies so fast.... She is full of beans and attitude, like you would not believe.. but still absolutely adorable and sweet little girl.. We are currently thinking about selling our house.. I have been there for almost 8 years now, and the renovations are finally almost complete.. I think its just maybe time to make a fresh start.. No firm plans as yet though, but i am thinking of a nice tidy, low maintenance brick and tile somewhere a bit quieter than where we are now... What else>>>??? For almost a week now i have been extremely sick with a chest infection/flu which has knocked me right off my feet.. I am still recovering, and staying with mum and my step dad, so i can get some good food into me and help with looking after the wild child. I will probably stay here till mid next week, until i fully recover. Its been a nasty one!!

Otherwise , all is good.. I am still loving my job, although unfortunately due to being sick a lot lately i have had a bit of time off.. I am working now on getting healthier and stronger, and beat these recurrent things that keep troubling me.. probably related more so to the stress i have endured since last October.. It can only get better , thats all i can say....

Having a bit of a bash for my birthday at Mums, seeing as its Easter weekend.. (easter saturday if i have forgotten to tell anyone)..
Anyway, thats enough for me.. Hope everyone else is happy and well..

Hey everyone... Wishing everyone a very happy and safe Christmas and a fabulous 2008... I thought 2007 was going to be my year.. but never mind.. 2008 is going to be it.. lol...

Well.. after a year, the last few months filled with heartache and disappointment, i finally broke up with Marc.. Much to the delight of ALL of my friends.. Guess i should have listened to the advice.... So if any of you are reading this, Thankyou so much for all your support, i could never survive without the amazing friends that i have.. And i know, i should listen more often........ I love and cherish you all , but a particularly huge thankyou to TRACY, HOLLY, NICOLE, ERIN, ANNIE and SANDIE...AND of course BRAD AND MATT FOR THE BOY PERSPECTIVE xxx
Some things just aren't meant to work out and although it took me awhile, i realised i deserved a whole lot more than i was getting or ever going to get.. So i am feeling good, maybe a little sad, but it's definately been the right decision. I am now in a" i hate men all over again" mood, they just can't be trusted.. lol... Just kidding.. I'm sure there are some decent ones out there... I just don't know why i always seem to meet bastards liars and cheats.... Ok, not all of them have been like that.. ??? Ah.. i will get over it.. More lessons learnt... Enough of THAT.....

Olivia is away this week, which is a nice break for me, although i am missing her terribly.. Shes coming home on Monday, in time for christmas with the family. She's very excited about Santa's upcoming visit, and i am SURE she will be spoiled rotten... Ah she's an only child... lol
Well, im off to pack and get ready, having a fun filled night out in the city tonight, and living it up 5 star.. Thought it was a good plan to spoil myself at the moment...

Greetings.... It has been a while!!! I havent had a whole lot of time lately.. well, i have, but i have been doing other stuff!!! The last few months have been a bit crazy... Liv is going well.. although at the moment, she is 4 1/2 going on 15 i swear. She is full of attitude, and "Im not wearing THAT mum"... Drives me freaking crazy some days, but shes as gorgeous as ever........
Marc and i have had a bit of a rough time of late, and he's moved into his own place in Paddington.. Its all good though... ;-) Things are going well.. Have been flat out leading up to xmas... And working the 12 hours shifts has been absolutely killing me.. But then again, i guess i only have to do 2 days a week.. Sad thing is, i seem to be more wiped out than usual, so end up just bumming around and sleeping on my days off... The best news from me , is that in just 5 shifts.. ok, its nearly 3 weeks, lol.. i will be on HOLIDAYS! Woo hoo... Its exciting for me anyway, first time i have had xmas holidays in 17 years of nursing!!! And this will be my first xmas not working in quite a few years! We're planning a pretty big one, at Mum and Michaels.. And Tracy and Chris and the girls are also celebrating with us.. So sure there will be plenty of cocktails by the pool if anyones around and looking for some action.. lol ;-). Even more exciting news is that Marc and I are heading up to the Magnificent Whitsundays on the 27th December. Woo hoo.... We are really looking forward to it !! ALthough we were initially planning to go overseas, we left booking it till too late and couldnt get a flight to ANYWHERE!!! Seriously!! Tried- Thailand, Bali, Malaysia, NZ, NOTHING... so bit of a bummer, but who can be unhappy at going up north anyway?? Cruising around the Whitsundays on a yacht.... ah, that is the life.. .We're having New Years up there too, so it should be fun! Not a lot else to report.. im starting to get my scrapping groove back, lol.. I have been a bit quiet the last few months.. But after some very serious (and damaging) shopping at Scrapbook City with Tracy today, im feeling all inspired again... Got $100 worth of stuff free due to the amount of reward points i had racked up!! Hate to think how much i actually spent to get them... ooopss...... Ah well...... Hi all.... Not a lot to report, just thought i would pop in and say hello.... lol
I have just had 3 wonderful days off, unfortunately it is back to work tomorrow :-(
I just spent a mammoth 4 HOURS at the hairdresser... Holy crap! Now i know why i just colour my own hair most of the time!!! Its a little freaky too..... Way short for me and funky and coloured... But i think i will get used to it.....
All else is well, Marc and I are off to Sydney on Friday night for the weekend, which will be nice...

Well... have had a fairly relaxed few days.. I worked night duty last night.. ho hum.. But it was all good, i "caught" a baby, which always makes me happy! (4320g, intact peri ;-)).. lol...... (like most of you know what that means? lol, my midwife mates will though :-) It means BIG baby, no stitches.. Yaayy.... Being out on the road visiting mums at home most of the time, means i dont get to catch babies much these days.., so it was a bit of a highlight for my week..... And i have a whole month in birth suite, which is very exciting for me....... yeah ok,,, im tired alright?? lol
We have a rather busy September going on....Apart from kicking back a bit this week (only working Thursday - woo hoo), and catching up on the house work.. ho hum.... - Im working all this weekend, as well as going to Mum's jewellery party and Curry night on Saturday,. next weekend Marc and I are off to Sydney, im finally going to meet my baby cousin Grace, who is now almost 4 mths old! Marc's taking me "home" to Lithgow, to meet the rest of the family and his friends and see his family home as his mum has just sold it and is moving up this way. So it should be fun!
The weekend after that is my dear friend Cynthias 35th, which she is celebrating in style with a cocktail party at Peppers Resort in Hervey Bay, so im looking forward to that!
Thats September gone, we have had such a busy year, i don't think i have achieved very much.. but anyway........ Theres always next year to do stuff, like, hmmmm???Finish this damn house maybe??? lol... One day.....
Anyway, thats it for now.. Im off to bed, while the rest of you are out working.. heheee......

Hi all.. I have been very very slack and haven't updated my blog for ages!!! Unfortunately, its been back to work for me, so i have been a bit busy! Not a lot has been happening really, so nothing excting to report... lol
Last weekend, Marc decided we would go out on a "Date" as Liv was away for the weekend.. We went into the city and watched the fireworks at RiverFire.., had dinner at the restaurant we went to on our first date, and stayed at a pretty plush place in the city.. It was just beautiful, we had heaps of fun too, even crawling to a few pubs.. lol...
This weekend, Marc is down in Sydney , on his annual Boy weekend away... Im missing him, but im entertaining myself quite well, catching up on all the scrapping i need to do, i have about a million photos from the last few months alone.. LOL.... (Over 1000 from NZ!, Seriously!)

A few weeks ago, i won a prize at Scrapbook Divas for a layout i put in for their cyber crop challenge, so that was exciting! Tonight i've been joining in Scrap Therapy's cyber crop.. For the non scrapbookers out there, as exciting as it sounds to you (Not)lol, its just basically chatting with fellow scrappers and participating in games and challenges.. Yeah, i know.. im getting old.. Who would have ever thought i would be doing crafty things?????? LMAO... Ah well......
I also bought a new flash printer yesterday.. Its pretty cool, i have been printing photos all day.... Well, best be off, i have a few more challenges to complete before bed, and its nearly midnight already!!!

Greetings again all...
Well i have sadly returned from the big trip to New Zealand. All i can say is, WOW.. It was the most beautiful place!!!! It was so very excited to see snow for the first time, and i have taken over 1000 photos!!!!!!!!!! Some are just amazing, totally loving my new Digi SLR!! It was a great trip, however, it is also great to be home! I was missing my girl sooooo much, it was so exciting to see her, i cried my eyes out :-(.... But all is good.. Back to reality now..
Fortunately, i have this week off, i dont have to go back to work until next week, so i am pottering around the house and starting the mammoth task of scrapping the photos i took!! Have been on a crazy spending spree the past few days, for new scrapping supplies, (like i need them, i have more stuff than some shops!!!! lol) Tracy and I had a fun day yesterday, battling the torrential rain and checking out a few scrap shops around Brisbane.. Not to mention the online shopping i did before we went out.. Ah well.... You can't have too much scrapping stuff i say...
Marc is back at work, poor thing, he never got a rest at all while we were away, it was just go go go.... But what can you do?? Anyway, i am in the middle of a few projects, so must go... More later...... K xxxxoooo

Hi all.. Just a quick hello... Here we are in downtown Christchurch.. Having spent the last 8 days in Queenstown.. Wow, its been amazing... I even managed to stay upright on the skis on a number of occasions, but had many snow eating incidents... More to report later.. I will fill you all in on our escapades....
This morning in Cathedral Square in Christchurch, Marc and i exchanged "Commitment rings", no , we're not engaged, they are just a symbol of our commitment to one another.... However, i did score a beautiful ring with 9 diamonds in it... We're calling it "Mini-me", its like a small replica of the big one i have my eye on... lol..... Very cute... Marcs is also lovely, he even got a little diamond too...... NZ Is the most beautiful place i have ever seen... Its been so much fun........
We are flying home early Sunday morning and i am looking forward to seeing my baby girl, ihave missed her so much.....

Hi all... I have been a busy little bee and haven't had time to update my blog... Well, its only 2 MORE SLEEPS, till we go on our big New Zealand adventure!!! Sooooo excited.... But if ONE MORE PERSON says "Don't break any bones" i will have to kill them.... lol.... I feel quite paranoid now that something is going to happen..... But i am well prepared, and i have a hard plastic wrist brace for my dicky left wrist.. Wouldn't want to land on that, and i have already convinced myself that i will be spending much more time on my butt than on my feet, so its all good...lol....
Olivia was the big FOUR on Friday. She got spoilt rotten, as you can imagine, but had a great time. We had pizza and cake on Friday night, the big McDonalds party on Saturday, and another dinner and cake at Nannys on Sunday night.. Talk about stretching the birthday out for a few days!!! ( i believe that is hereditary, lol, i've been known to do it myself... hahhahahaha).
I spoke to her ENT specialist today, and it turns out she actually has significant hearing problems from fluid in her ears, so when i get back from OS i will be organising her operation. She has to have some grommets put in.... She assures me, that now she is 4, she will be very brave! Bless her... Shes also due for her 4 yr old needles when i get home.. But now that she's 4, shes a big girl and she wont cry, she say.. lol.. Yeah right.....
Olivia is loving her new pink scooter that Marc and I bought her.. She was absolutely thrilled and said "Mummy, that is the exact pink scooter that i always wanted!!!" lol... Too cute for her own good that kid!
Anyway, thats all from us... Will fill you in on all our adventures when we get back, unless i manage to get onto Sandie's lap top and update you during the holiday.. lol...

Happy Monday

Greetings all.. Well, its Monday again, the start of another week... I have a feral week this week, working every day except for today :-( ok, i know, i get no sympathy off anyone who works 5 days a week, but i only usually do 3, so its a bit stressful for me.. haha..... However, the light at the end of the tunnell is that i am on HOLIDAYS after Friday, for 3 whole weeks, yippee... We are now on the countdown, only 10 more sleeps till we go on our big overseas adventure!! Soooo excited about it!! We had a reasonably quiet weekend.. I scrapped Friday night and all day Sunday with Sandie.. Marc even joined me in the study in the afternoon, building his remote control bike thingy. lol.. Well, he figured he needed a hobby seeing as he calls himself a "Scrapping Widow"... lol.. At least that way, we could still chat and spend time together whilst participating in our respective hobbies.. lol.... Olivia will be 4 on Friday, i cant believe how fast that time has flown by! She's very excited about her party on Saturday, its a Mad Hatter party, so it should be fun!

Well, its back to work for me today.. thank god.. My eyes seem to have cleared up considerably since the antibiotics kicked in.. And the good thing is i only have to work 2 days now , then 4 next week and i am on hols for 3 whole weeks!! Yipppeee..... Cant wait for our trip... All is good otherwise, Liv is well and happy and Marc seems a bit better today :-)
We have another fairly quiet weekend, although we are booked out Saturday night, first dinner for my mate Brad's Birthday, then off to another birthday party. Apart from that, we will be lying fairly low, trying to save a few $$$$$ so we can have a mad time on our holiday!

It's Monday!

Howdy all... Well... i still have yucky eyes, turns out i have a nice little bug called Streptococcus Pneumoniae... Nasty.. Doc has put me on some oral antibiotics now, so hopefully it will clear up soon! Driving me nuts, its been 9 days now of manky eyes... lol... Doc says i should be able to go back to work by the end of the week, and i am sure hoping so!! Believe it or not, i have been relatively bored! Not to mention that the poor old pay won't be looking too healthy!!

We had a quiet weekend, spring cleaning and relaxing really. I also managed to scrap 7 pages in the last few days, which is a small miracle for me. Liv has been really good, she spent yesterday with Nanny before Nanny had to go to Melbourne for a week (She has a new job and went away for training). Olivia just loves her Nanny time. Marc is a bit sick now with the same flu i have had for the past week.. Poor baby....

We are hoping to both be very well for our holiday which is in just over 2 weeks!! I can't wait!! I think i will go mad taking photos, i just bought a new Canon Digital SLR a few weeks ago. Cost a fortune, but it is good fun and takes beautiful photos.

After our fire crisis last week, we have finally installed the smoke alarms, so all is good. The oven on the other hand, is looking a bit sad, and i might have to think about buying a new one soon. It still works ok, but any excuse to update it, i never liked it anyway.. lol :-)

Well, here i am again... lol.... I have had a bit of free time on my hands as i have been sick for the past 2 weeks with the flu, and then a nasty dose of conjunctivitis the last week, so i have been off sick for a few days until the infection clears up.. Very nasty indeed.... Yesterday was a day of disasters with the computer crash in which i managed to totally kill the computer and lose everything, photos and all.. Luckily, i am slowly finding some of my stuff... We also had a bit of a kitchen fire last night.. Marc was grilling something for dinner and walked away for a few minutes, whilst i was busy sorting out the computer crisis... I heard a funny noise and went out to investigate, and the griller was on fire!!!!!!!! Marc's quick thinking turned off the power, and went for the fire extinguisher, but i managed to blow the fire out... Crisis averted, although my oven is slightly burnt and some of the dials for the hot plates melted... Lol... House full of smoke and all.. we are on a mission this weekend to install the smoke detectors...... Well, thats all for now...........................

Well..... i am slowly catching up with technology.. Thought this blogging this could be fun!!.... Will get back to it later.... haha.... I am in the midst of sorting out a major computer crash crisis.. I managed to crash the system and lose EVERYTHING off my hard drive.... i am slowly trying to work out how to salvage some of it... Which is pretty tricky for someone as technologically challenged as myself.......... lol ;-)
